Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a American military jet carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
