Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Wins Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Awards.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player concluded the year with an impressive 23-3 Grand Slam match record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old secured four titles – the most on tour – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Dominance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and collected a historic £11m in tournament winnings.

She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
